TREE SHADOWS ON THE PRAIRIE
In 2023 I made two journeys along parts of the Lincoln Highway, America’s first highway that went from coast to coast. I motored through Iowa, where there are still stretches paved with red brick. Then through Nebraska, where I learned about the immensely kind women who met all the troop trains crossing the country during WWII with smiles and a meal. Next into Wyoming, where we viewed a building made entirely of fossils. What an Americana-infused road trip, with more to come in the future!
This photograph is of a beautiful barn in rural Iowa in which shadows of trees along the Lincoln Highway fall on the barn wood at the end of the day.
